How we can get rid of Age-Spots?

How we can get rid of Age-Spots?
Feb 24, 2022

Age spots also called liver spots or sun spots are small, flat dark areas on the skin. They come in a variety of brown, tan, or black colors and sizes, and they commonly form on sun-exposed regions including the face, hands, shoulders, and arms. Adults over the age of 50 are more likely to show age spots on their skin, although younger people can develop them if they spend too much time in the sun.

Who get age spots?

Age spots can affect people of all skin kinds, although light-skinned adults are more likely to develop them. Age spots do not dissolve, unlike freckles, which are prevalent in children and vanish with no sun contact.

When we should treat age spots?

You don't need to treat these little, flat, black patches on your skin since they won't damage you. However, if you don't like how they seem, you may make them less visible or even disappear. You can also prevent new ones from emerging and protect the ones you already have from darkening. Regularly wearing sunscreen and avoidance of sun exposure can help to prevent age spots.

Although true age spots do not require treatment, they are an indication of excessive sun exposure and your skin's effort to protect itself from more sun damage. They might be brightened or eliminated for aesthetic purposes.

Causes

Pigment cells that are hyperactive generate age spots. The formation of melanin which is the natural pigment that gives skin its color, is accelerated by ultraviolet radiation. When melanin becomes accumulated in high quantities on skin that has been exposed to the sun for years, age spots emerge. Age spots can also be caused by commercial tanning lights and beds.

Who are the people who are impacted by age spots?

Anyone who has been exposed to the sun for an extended period of time might get age spots. Age spots can form on children and young adults, even if they have spent a lot of time in the sun or in a tanning bed, or even if they have had a single serious sunburn. Women are somewhat more prone than males to get age spots, although both men and women are susceptible.

young or old?

People over the age of 50 with fair skin are more prone to get age spots. Age spots run in the family, aggrevate by sun Damage and/or a lot of time spent in the sun or tanning beds.

Sun damage is a threat for skin

Sun-damaged skin is an issue all throughout the world, but it's particularly common in tropical climates. This might cause serious UV damage to your skin. Skin that has been exposed to the sun can be rough, dry, and unevenly pigmented, with darker, discolored areas and regions. Its resilience may degrade, leading to price rises and lineups. Sun exposure also increases the concentration of melanin in freckles and age spots. As a result of all of these negative changes, sun-damaged skin may make you seem older.

Prevention

Follow these sun-exposure guidelines to help prevent age spots and new spots following treatment:

Sunscreens

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., stay out of the sun. Because the sun's rays are strongest at this time of day, try to plan outside activities for later in the day. Apply sunscreen to your skin. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 at least 15 to 30 minutes before going outside. Apply sunscreen liberally and reapply every two hours — or more frequently if you're swimming or sweating heavily.

Skin covering

Keep your head down. Wear tightly woven clothing that covers your arms and legs, as well as a broad-brimmed hat that offers more sun protection than a baseball cap or golf visor. Wear clothes that is meant to shield you from the sun. To receive the most protection, look for clothing with a UV protection factor (UPF) of 40 to 50.

Chemical peeling

A chemical peel is a treatment that improves the appearance of the skin of the face, neck, and hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The newly regenerated skin is often smoother and less wrinkled and with less age spots than the previous skin.

What are the advantages of chemical peel?

Chemical peels are performed on the skin to erase wrinkles, discolouration, and scars. They can be used on their own or in conjunction with other cosmetic treatments. They may also be done at a variety of depths, from shallow to deep. Deeper chemical peels provide more dramatic results, but they also take longer to recover from.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) and lasers

Some laser and powerful pulsed light treatments kill melanin-producing cells (melanocytes) while leaving the skin's surface unharmed. Two to three sessions are usually required for these techniques. Ablative (wounding) lasers like our Co2 fractional laser remove the top layer of the skin (epidermis) without giving much downtime to patients.

How does IPL work?

IPL treatment also can also be used to revitalize sun-damaged skin that has grown coarse. By promoting collagen production in the dermal layer, just under the skin's surface, light therapy repairs and restores the skin from the bottom up. Melanin pigment absorbs the light and after a few days these pigments will be peeled off from the skin. Smoother, moister, and more robust skin develops as the body naturally replaces rough, dry skin. After numerous sessions of IPL therapy, you will be astounded by your younger, more consistently colored skin.
After treatment, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 and wear protective clothes while going outside.
